A woman is accused of driving while intoxicated with two 6-month-old infants in the back seat, according to an arrest affidavit.
Police responded to a call shortly after midnight to the 1300 block of Oltorf Street. just west of Interstate 35.
An officer found a woman, who police identified as 33-year-old Stephanie Clark, passed out in a Buick, the affidavit said.
The officer said in the affidavit that Clark was slumped over in the driver’s seat, her eyes halfway open and rolled back, holding a brown cigarette that was still lit and smoking. After the officer seized the cigarette, he noticed it had “a green leafy substance inside it,” the affidavit said.
The car was running, with the two infants in the back seat, the document said.
According to the affidavit, the officer said he turned off the vehicle and it began to roll backward because the transmission system was still in drive. Clark then woke up and hit the brakes, the document said.
A witness told police he saw Clark driving on the inside lane of East Oltorf Street and drift into oncoming traffic before pulling over.
According the affidavit, Clark admitted to taking small doses of the prescription drugs Zoloft and alprazolam and smoking what she thought was marijuana, but she said she was unsure.
Clark was booked into the Travis County Jail, where she remained Friday with bail set at $10,000.
